Today I started watching films by Maya Deren again. I used to watch these all the time when I was studying. If I was struggling with something I'd nip off to the library and watch them to escape. I just love the truly experimental images she creates, in the 40's I'm guessing she didn't use Adobe filters so I marvel at them! I also like that she didn't make her beautiful films on a big budget (she bragged once "I make my pictures for what hollywood spends on lipstick") haha!
