'The Advent Calender of Wonderfulness' 6: Holly Fulton

Whoa! Scottish designer Holly Fulton's collections are absolutely stunning. I am a huge fan of the art deco grand aesthetic which she incorporates in such a bold and modern way. Stunning.

'The Advent Calender of Wonderfulness' 5: Finch and Fouracre

Finch and Fouracre are Glasgow based modelmakers. Specialising in architectural models and their very own, simply wonderful DIY tenement kits, their detailing and accuracy is amazing. I particularly like their motto "measure twice, cut once"! Very wise words indeed.

'The Advent Calender of Wonderfulness' 3: Kitty & Dude

Behind today's window is Edinburgh based ceramic artist Kitty & Dude. Love love love her work. Ceramics come alive as beautiful bird brooches, plates and flying pig wall ornaments painted and appliquéd with pristine detail. I also love how she exhibits her work, all her pieces flow together perfectly in a whimsical array. I wish my room looked like this!

'The Advent Calender of Wonderfulness' 2: Jennifer Robson

Whimsical and delightful artist from Dundee Jennifer Robson. This collection of drawer art is playful and magical, snipets of animal mischief. Some of these pieces are set designs in miniature.

'The Advent Calender of Wonderfulness' 1: The Hidden Lane Tearoom

Behind the first window is the most beautiful, cosy, creative and scrumptious tearoom in the world. The Hidden Lane Tearoom. If you haven't discovered this gem of a place yet then it is the perfect getaway from the biting cold. It's hidden away down the aptly named Hidden Lane in Glasgow's west end.

The owner, Kirsty, reinvented this cute mezzanined building into a cake grotto! Filled with masterminded cakes, vintage crockery and teas galore, I'm there at least once a week for her tasty deli board scones. She also does high tea! Everything is served on dainty mis-matched crockery and tastes delicious. Some of her vintage teasets are for sale as well as selected work from exhibiting artists and local designers. She also welcomes local artisans and musicians to put on workshops and gigs in a warm environment. So far there's been life drawing, live music and knitting classes. Check it oot!

Fantoosherie Knows Where Spring Is Hiding

If some of you are peering out your windows today and sighing over the gray, grim gloom outside do not fear because Fantoosherie knows where spring is hiding! - and it's only 18 sleeps away! Actually that is still a bit too far away for my liking!

I'm talking about the Made In The Shade Spring Time Jamboree!!!

Not only is the event taking place in the Lighthouse ("yes the Lighthouse is open for this event"!) but it will be packed with 30+ independent designers, makers and crafters and Fantoosherie is one of 'em!

The MITS girls are also organising cool activities for the day too like a retro photo booth, a packed vintage dressing room (guys and girls clothing) and collective bunting making! I'm really excited. And it's something warm and colourful to look forward to in all this gray gloomy rain!

They will also be giving away free goodie bags for the first 100 people to arrive and Fantoosherie will have some money off vouchers hiding in some of them. Over the next two weeks i'll be posting sneaky peeks at some of the new fabric accessories i'll be selling there. Hope to see you there - these events never disappoint.

Oh and Freeeeeeee Entry!

Stay Fancy
